Equitation news from the Eastern Cape
Junior Champs results:
Well done to the Eastern Cape teams. They did themselves and their region proud.
The novice team, which consisted of only three members as Wayne Minnie was not available, finished second to KZN and Mia placed 4th individually and Bridget 5th. Western Cape was third
Western Cape were clear winners in the Intermediates with Eastern Cape second and Mpumalanga third. Robyn was tie third individually.
The Open individual championship was held in pouring rain and heavy mist…not easy for anyone! Both Sam and Lauren made it through to the final eight with Lauren finishing 4th. This qualifies Lauren for the prestigious Philip Smith competition, which will be held in Joburg next year. We will all be holding thumbs for Lauren when this takes place…the 1st prize – a trip overseas to a major equestrian event!
The open team championship of SA was won by the Eastern Cape with stellar performances from all four team members: Amy, Lauren, Samantha and Savannah. Western Cape were 2ndwith Gauteng 3rd. Well done girls. Thank you to Diane Botes for managing this team
Thank you to the Rademacher team for all their work before and during the show and to Jo Webb and her helpers for the running of the three equitation competitions.
